Hi, I'm Sidna and I'm Running for Fort Collins City Council District 4!

When I retired from my job as Chief Accountant at Maersk Oil Qatar, my husband, son and I were anxious to get home and to find a place where we could put down roots.  It's twenty years later, and I am so glad that we chose Fort Collins.  It's a wonderful place to live!

Several of the organizations that I have volunteered with include the League of Women Voters, chair of the  Northern Colorado chapter of the ACLU, the Victim Service Team of the Fort Collins Police Department,  and  as a board member  of the Front Range Forum, a city sponsored life-long learning group.

The experience that has affected me the most was as a Court Appointed Special Advocate.  CASAs  work within the criminal justice system and are a voice for children whose families are caught up in the Dependency and Neglect Court.   The CASA kids are often in foster care.  It wasn't until I was a CASA advocate that I observed what being disadvantaged in the United States really meant.

As a City Council member,  I would have the opportunity to support community members who are struggling.  This includes small businesses trying to stay afloat in the wake of the pandemic, the homeless, and families who can't find affordable housing or affordable child care.

Please help me achieve these goals; vote for me in the April 6th election.
